Drill and Chill Climbing and Highlining Festival 2019

  • News
We welcome you all to ten days of bolting, climbing, highlining, nature and nights around the fire – A celebration of an international climbing and highlining culture and the spirit of vertical pioneering. In 2015 we created the Drill & Chill Climbing and Highlining Festival to playfully combat the status quo. The festival is organized by Climbing club Extreme Banja Luka and is conceived around the idea of connecting climbers, highliners and outdoor enthusiasts from Western Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region through the transfer of knowledge and experiences. We invite you to be guests in our backyard and play with us. Here, we will set up camp for 10 days, work, climb, slackline, hang out, participate in various workshops, watch movies, party, enjoy traditional food and drinks or just chill in hammocks. If you like to travel and climb off the beaten paths, Bosnia and Herzegovina offers a diverse landscape of forested mountains and an abundance of untamed limestone.

Call for Bolters and Riggers If you are a bolter or have experience in rigging highlines and you would like to visit, explore and help us with bolting new routes or establishing some trad lines and highlines – please make sure you note this in the registration form. If you are new to bolting but would like to join us, you are welcome to take part in our bolting course. Please keep in mind that the practical part of the bolting course will have a limited number of places and it will be up to the organisers to decide who to bring along.

Workshops Every year we work with volunteers and professionals to bring you all sorts of workshops: bolting, highline rigging, slacklining, yoga, areal silk and areal hoop, food fermentation, juggling. If you have something useful to contribute, let us know.

Basecamp The camp (including electricity, water, shower, toilets) will be set up in a field in the village. The participation fee includes a place for tent and additional place for a camper van/car. Basic private accommodation on site can be arranged for a reasonable fee to be paid directly to the hosts.
