Monitoring the governments for Griffon Vultures and Other Wild Animals

Following the competition of the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund for the award of funds for the implementation of the project and similar activities in the field of environmental protection, the Novi Val Youth Organization has signed a project for monitoring the feeding grounds for Griffon vultures and other wild animals at the Ravnice feeding site.

Monitoring of Griffon vultures, endangered Partridge and other wildlife on the Plateau Plateau aims at inventorying, mapping and monitoring the species and habitat, with a focus on collecting new data, all in accordance with EU nature directives, especially those the aim is to obtain information that would serve to establish a Natura 2000 network in BiH. The main objective of the project is to inventory, map and monitor the status of species and habitats, with an emphasis on collecting new data from all wild animals coming to the Ravnice feeding site.

In partnership with JLC “Hunter” Mostar, Novi val in 2017 launched the story of re-reactivation of feeding grounds for Griffon vultures but also feeding facilities for Jarebica stonecutter because the species is endangered. The construction of artificial feeding facilities is of great importance in order to return this species, but it can generally survive.

The expected results of the project are as follows:

Construction of a modern storage facility with a system of video surveillance and monitoring

Provision of sufficient animal waste

Disposal of animal waste and dead animals

Return of Griffon Vultures to Bosnia and Herzegovina and monitoring process

Increasing population of Kamenjarka partridge

Feeder setup and monitoring process

Digging waterfalls and creating better conditions for animals

Organizing tourist tours to feeding sites (experiences from Spain, Croatia, Serbia)

Suppression of infection

Protecting the eco-system

Creating positive biodiversity
